When a Rewire Is Needed
Homes built before the 1970s commonly have rubber-insulated wiring that has become brittle with age. This wiring is a fire and fault risk, the insulation cracks and can fail at connections or where cables pass through wall cavities. A full rewire replaces all the fixed wiring in the property with modern cable and brings the installation up to current standards.
A partial rewire is appropriate where only specific circuits or sections of the installation are aged or non-compliant, for example, wiring in a section of the house that has been extended, or circuits that show evidence of overheating or previous amateur work.
Renovation and Extension Wiring
Renovations and extensions create new electrical requirements, new rooms, new kitchen circuits, additional power and lighting. We work with builders and owner-builders to wire new and extended sections of a property, coordinating rough-in work during the frame stage and fit-off once plastering is complete.
Where a renovation exposes existing wiring that is non-compliant or in poor condition, we advise on the extent of the issue and quote the rectification. Leaving non-compliant wiring in a renovated property creates liability.
New Build Fit-Outs
For new residential and commercial builds, we carry out the complete electrical fit-out, rough-in during the frame stage, installation of all conduit and cable, and fit-off of all outlets, switches, light fittings, switchboard, and fixed appliance connections once the property is lined and painted.

A full rewire depends heavily on the size of the property, the number of circuits, the accessibility of the existing wiring, and the condition of the switchboard. We quote all rewires on inspection, there is no reliable per-house estimate without seeing the property.
For a full rewire of an occupied property, it depends on the scale of the work and how it is staged. We discuss the most practical approach at the quote stage. Partial rewires of specific circuits can often be completed without major disruption.
Signs include: ceramic fuse holders in the switchboard, rubber-insulated wiring visible at the switchboard or in the roof space, a burning smell without obvious cause, recurring faults on specific circuits, or a property that has not had electrical work done since the 1970s or earlier.
Yes. A Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued on completion of all electrical work. We provide a copy to you as the property owner.
